Franco’s training and practice in integrative medicine began in 1996 at the Swedish Institute, College of Health Sciences in Manhattan where he completed a degree in medical massage therapy and Shiatsu.
He then spent two years studying with Jeffrey Yuen, a renowned expert in Chinese medicine. The training included a unique focus on Chinese Dietary Therapy.
He also completed advanced courses in Western herbs at the Flynn School of Herbology.
Franco subsequently earned a Master of Science degree in traditional oriental medicine, a 4-year program at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.
He also studied at Chengdu University and Hospital in China, concentrating on the treatment of internal medicine with herbs.
Franco has worked in many integrative clinics including the UCSD Center for Sports Medicine, San Diego Hospice, and New York Medical, P.C., which integrated massage therapy, acupuncture, internal medicine, neurology, and physical medicine.
His clinical experience included three years working alongside Dr. Xi Qui, an acupuncturist and MD with over 40 years of experience.
In addition, he completed a one-year course in Integrative Musculoskeletal Medicine with Dr. Alon Marcus in the East Bay.
Franco has been in private practice in San Francisco since 2005.
